Range Rules

WAITSBURG GUN CLUB RANGE RULES 

Shooting hours

8:00 AM to 8:00 PM or dusk,

except approved functions

1. NEVER load a firearm except on the firing lines.

2. NEVER handle a firearm while people are downrange. Ensure all shooters are aware of cease fire

3. NEVER assume a firearm is unloaded – check it to be sure and leave action open while on the firing line.

4. NEVER put your finger on the trigger or take the firearm off safe unless you are ready to shoot and the firearm is pointing towards the targets and impact areas

5. Eye and ear protection are required on all ranges during live fire.

6. Have membership card and picture ID when on the range. You may be checked!

7. Shooters must clean up their shooting and target areas of trash and all casings when finished

8. Alcoholic beverages and/or drugs are not allowed on the range at any time.

9. Range is limited to club members and an accompanied guest except when range has been opened to the public. Adult guests are only allowed 3 visits before they must join. Members are responsible for their guest.

10. Club trap machines are to be used only by authorized personnel. 

SHOOTING RESTRICTIONS

1. NO birdshot at rifle / pistol range field

2. NO .50 BMG

3. NO fully automatic firearms

4. NO rapid firing-more than one round per second

5. NO armor piercing, incendiary or tracer ammunition

6. NO METAL TARGETS (except Range provided) June 15th until Sept. 15th (burn ban)

7. NO glass bottles or appliances as targets

8. NO hunting or shooting at any wildlife from or on the range

9. Shotguns and portable clay pigeon devices, are only to be used on the shotgun range. 

The Waitsburg Gun Club is not responsible for firearms left unattended or stored in the gun racks.  Violators of the Club Range Rules will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Club’s Constitution and Bylaws.
